Occupy Movement

Synopsis – In late 2011 and into early 2012, the Occupy Movement cropped up in cities across the nation. The images presented here represent a portion of a body of work created over the course of 5 months from Oct. 2011- Feb. 2012, chronicling the rise and fall of the local Occupy Charlotte movement, from it’s inception at Marshall Park to the cities enforced dismantling of the groups site at Old City Hall.

Images captured during this time appeared in the Charlotte Observer and Creative Loafing Charlotte. Images selected for this album were also printed in the April 2012 issue of Charlotte Magazine for the article “Us Vs. I”. A selection of 85 images, along with work by other artists, were also displayed at UNCC’s Center Of The Earth gallery during the 2012 Democratic National Convention.
